Welcome to Amity for Animals
I'm Asha, and I've always loved being with animals. Recently, I realized that, to show this love, I need to make an impact on the ever-present situation of animal welfare. So, Amity for Animals was born. Our goal is to look at animal welfare with a compassionate, solution-oriented perspective - above all, we want to keep animals healthy and happy.
My Story
Ever since I was a young child, I've loved spending time with animals. When I first moved to Goa, India, my family would spend our free time at the Welfare for Animals in Goa shelter in Siolim, brushing cows, bottle feeding calves, and giving the animals company. As I've gotten older, I decided that I want to make a difference in the lives of stray animals. And one of the best ways to do that? Education. I spent my summer as an intern at WAG, and now I'm starting Amity for Animals, an awareness campaign and movement that looks at animal welfare with a compassionate and solution-oriented approach. My other recent project includes learningfromthewild,com, a blog that reflects on human interactions with the environment and other species.
